I'm glad none of you mentioned the Remington 597! Have I told anyone lately what a piece of crap the 597 is?!!

Ack, I was just going to mention it!

The 597 is pretty darn accurate right out of the box if you don't mind shooting an autoCHOKER rather than an autoCHUCKER.[:'(]

I have a Marlin as well and it does the job on the tree rats heads at 50 yards real well.the 10/22 is a great gun also.I can't say anything bad about Marlins.

hehe the 597 yea its accurate but who likes to fumble with jams after every so many shots, the only time i ever had to deal with jams in my ruger 10-22 was after putting 2 bricks through it without cleaning it or when using cheap chinese manufactured 22 ammo.

the old remington nylons are VERY accurate and reliable. The standard 10/22 isnt very accurate, but they basically define reliable, throw in a bull barrel and WOW!! what a great gun. They also make thumbhole stocks for the 10/22.

Ummm... Is this a trick question... Anschutz 525 series or Volquaerston custom, it isn't in the same league as the TC/Rugers/Marlins, but there was no mention to cost, there are some other custom 10/22's out there that are shooters...

I think we would need to define accuracy and price. The 10/22's and TC's are nice guns, but when I talk "accurate" I am thinking of target accuracay, which none of those fit the bill.
