Default RE: questions

You can get a rifled choke tube for your shotgun. You don't shoot the slug through any typical turkey choke. Drilled and tapped means that the receiver of the shotgun has been pre drilled and the holes then tapped to accept the screws that will hold the rings and bases for the attachment of a scope to the shotgun.

Default RE: questions

If you picked yourself up a dedicated turkey gun with a shorter barrel and turkey choke, you could easily swap out the turkey choke for an improved cyl. or rifled choke tube and shoot slugs. It would make a very handy combo gun.

The term "drilled & tapped" refers to the receiver/barrel having threaded holes to attach scope bases to mount a scope. Drilled refers to the factory drilling a hole in the receiver, and tapped refers to using a tap to cut the threads for the screws. Drilling & tapping the reciever is a nearly standard practice on new factory rifles these days, but before telescopic sights (scopes) became nearly universally used by the vast majority of shooters, guns were not always drilled and tapped from the factory, so to mount scope bases one would have to have a gunsmith drill and tap the receiver on and gun they wanted to mount a scope on. Many dedicated turkey/slug guns have cantelever barrels that are either drilled and tapped for scope bases, or have machined in Weaver rails for Weaver-style rings.
