RE: 300 WSM!!!

Oh I don't know my POS Weatherby Vanguard in 300 wsm(369 dollars) shoots under an inch with factory loads (150 grain ballistic silvertips). Out of the three I have owned its the cheapest by far and almost shoots as well as the Browning Abolt(cost 649 in 2002) I owned and much better then the Winchester Model 70 SS(cost 599 in 2002) I owned. BTW its trigger has never been adjusted , the other 2 had their triggers adjusted. Feeds much smoother then the Winchester BTW . Just my .02

The Tikka rifle might have been my second choice but there was just something about the plastic parts that I didn’t like and also the one long action for both short and long cartridges . I also looked at the Rem. 700 Titanium but the price was about the same as the Sako so I went for Sako instead.
Sako if you can afford it is the best of the best when it comes to WSM chamberings

300wsm only one choice browning a bolt medalion
I have groups with factory ammo and even better with handloads
at 100yds and 200yds 3 shots touching .
NO OTHER CHOICE IN MY OPINION DON'T OVER PAY FOR A NAME !

I use my .280 for deer so I will use this gun for elk, moose, karabo, and beer.
Oh no!!! Not the beer!!![8D]

Browning all the way. I would think a 300WSM should be enough for nearly anything in North America.

I like the longuns, figure I'd go with either a .300 Weatherby or a .300 Rem UM.

Factory loads for the UM are short, but the Wby has 50 loads you can buy off the shelf.

I have been looking at the Savage with the accu trigger in 300 or 270 WSM I saw one a Gander Mountain early this week. I am thinking a little like Big Country and waiting for the 325 to get here. However it will be another year I quess before Savage brings theres out. I would like to seee the 6.5WSM come out as I have long been fond of the 6.5. Even a 6.5WSSM would be nice. I think that one will be comming soon.

...and is offered in the upgraded guns...MY 300WSM makes regular synthetic feel like cheap plastic. Dura-touch is the sheet.

300 WHAT EVER THE WSM ALMOST EQUALS ALL OF THEM IN A LOWER RECOIL SMALLER FASTER ACTION
300wsm-180gr-around 3000fps

300ultramag-180gr-over 3300fps

30-378-180gr-around 3500fps

Saying that the 300wsm almost equals these 300's is like saying the 30-30 almost equals the 308win.

RE: 300 WSM!!!

The 300 WSM will sure do the job. I was just sitting here reading the Nosler Manual. It lists the following 30-378 3264 fps 300 Ultra Mag 3229 fps, 300 WSM 3082fps. 300 Win Mag 3160 fps. No animal on earth is going to tell any difference in the small fpr difference in these four. The 3040 krag killed big game very well at 2000-2200 fps with both the 180 and 200 grain bullets. My only point is that to think that the 300WSM will not do the same job in the field as any other current 300 Mag is kidding themself.
