Solitary Man

I've yet to meet a salesperson at one of the large stores like Cabelas or Bass Pro who knew much about the products they were selling. They might possess some vague general knowledge, but when it comes to a real understanding, they don't have it. For that reason I always do my homework before I shop at one of these stores. And it's no guarantee that the small shop owner is going to know any more. An experience at a local small shop a couple of months ago was a real eye opener for me.

Here lately I've been buying all my scopes over the internet because the prices are better (plus no taxes and some offer free shipping too) and most of these guys who deal in nothing but optics seem to be pretty knowledgable about their products. I've had good buying experiences with Bearbasin, SWFA and the Opticzone.
