I have a rifle my father said came from Switzerland. I do not know anything about it. It has a symbol stamped on the stock. It also has the number 21175 stamped on the barrel, clip, and bolt.
I tried to load pictures, but I think my picture files are too big. Can I fix this?

If you have a piece of software that you saved the pictures with in the first place, see if there's any place to:
1) decrease the 'pixel dimensions' of the picture,
2) 'decrease the quality', or
3) 'increase the compression.'
...or you could email it to me and I'll do it in 30 seconds.

Yours was made in 1891, the first year of production, they were made through 1897.
Do not fire surplus gewehrpatrone-11 (GP-11) ammo through it. This particular madel that you have has a fairly weak design and I would only shoot mild handloads through it.
