Blah, Blah, Blah..............thats my reason for buying a new rifle, I dont compare it to what i have or what i need, if I see a rifle that tickles my fancy I buy it!!! I have many different rifles, and 2 of 2 different calibers. If you like it dont make up an excuse to justify it........BUY IT!!!!!

I own a 7 mag, but if you are looking for a larger gun, why not go to a 8mm or 338?

there is alwalys a reason to buy a gun. lets make that clear. But the 270 can do anything the 7mm can do.

Up to deer I would agree, either work extremely well. However when your talking bigger game like moose or elk the 7mm rem mag is better suited for this purpose. Like I mentioned before this is from experience, I have seen the results and advantages the 7mm rem mag has over the 270 win in this regard.

Enjoy your new Abolt if you decide to keep it, never saw that prior to posting

red, your probably right. But I have never had great luck loading the 270win with accurate 150's or 160's but am great with 140's and 130's.

if you are going to hunt bigger game, elk moose ect.... the 7mag is clearly better suited than the 270. go look at someother posts and its clear that the 7mags are not questioned as elk calibers while the 270 is highly controversal as a elk caliber. W/ deer it wont matter much, but more punch is more punch.
