Pre-ban, Colt. That's all I know. Friend of mine has one and was asking me if I knew what the current value was. I'm clueless.

According to the 2002 edition of Gun Digest the Colt Match Target Rifle is priced at $779.00 while the Match Target HBAR shows $1194.00 .

The cost of a near perfect "pre-ban" Colt AR-15 would be in the neighborhood of $1200-$1500 depending on model, barrel, stock, etc.

Are they a better rifle than a post-ban rifle?

I know of just the "Pre-Ban" lower's going for $500-600 when you can find one. What SteelShooter said about $1,200-1,500 for a "pre-ban" in good condition is about right.
