Winchester 140gr Accubond CT, .270WSM
I received a browning a bolt .270wsm for christmas. I sited it in using Winchester Supreme 140gr Accubond CT. They seem to be pretty accurate out of my rifle, 1" groups at 200 yards. I am curious to know if anyone can tell me what kind of damage I can expect from these bullets on a whitetail. Does anyone have any experience with them from a .270 wsm? How well do they hold together for close shots and long shots(300yds)?
Thanks

I don 't have a 270wsm (by the way nice Xmas present) but I have used the winchester supreme Accubonds 160gr in my 7mm rem mag for the first time this year and at 50 yards the damage was pretty extensive. I did not recover the bullet but it went high thru both front shoulders breaking the spine and exiting the other side leave a good size hole and lots of damage (it definately held together) I was very impressed with the amount of bone that it went thru without totally breakin up. I have no personal long distance experience with this bullet but I hear the results are quite impressive as well.

I hope you don't mind adear11, but I sort of need to piggy back your question. I just bought the same gun, but only a Savage. I'm wondering the same as you for whitetails, but also for coyotes. What is the best bullet type for both animals?
Once again, hope you don't mind adear.
Thanks

Look over on www.shortmags.org and they will have much more info on the .270WSM including bullet selections, etc. The forum is full of people that use the caliber(s) in question.
