RE: Questions for T/C Encore Owners!
I love them. I like the interchangeable barrel Idea. The are not cheap nor are the barrels. I think they run from 475-550. dollars. This at least where I live. The barrels run from 220-275.

RE: Questions for T/C Encore Owners!
I picked up my Encore,15",7mm-08 when they first came on the market and I payed $525.00! Now I own a 26" 25-06,a 15" .223,a 26" .280 and my last purchase was a 26" .240 Weatherby that I picked up from Virgin Valley Guns. I still want a 7mm STW...;)

RE: Questions for T/C Encore Owners!
I love my Encore rifle/pistol/shotgun.lol To me, the interchangeable barrels is one of the main reasons that draws me to them. I like the thought of having only one trigger pull whether its on a pistol, rifle or shotgun barrel, and in my opinion, that'll make you a better shooter. They're not cheap, but spend another $250 or so on another barrel and you've got another rifle. As for the cost of one, around here, I can walk out the door with a stainless frame and one rifle barrel for $530. As for additional barrels, it depends on which barrel it is. Muzzleloading(stainless) barrels will run $275-285 through www.edstc.com depending on caliber. The 12ga turkey barrel is the most expensive factory barrel I know of.($330) Good luck and I hope 'ol Dad comes through for ya.

The T/C definitely has an advantage for interchangeable barrels. You can pretty well get any cartridge you want. I paid more then I care to admit.
Carpmaster, check out this link. www.virginvalleyguns.com They might have the barrel you want in stock...... |
RE: Questions for T/C Encore Owners!
Sorry Carp, you'll have to go custom to get the 264 winmag.

RE: Questions for T/C Encore Owners!
to the best of my knowledge Virgin Valley is out of business... the web site is still there but they quit taking orders months ago and sent back all deposits they had in hand... they supposedly finished production of what was started, but that was it...
I think you'll be hard pressed to find anyone to chamber a Encore to 264 Win Mag because of the chamber pressure they develop... back to the original question... they rate right up there with sliced bread... I've got 2 of them, with 10 different barrels in 8 different calibers/gauges... from 22 hornet to 375H&H and 45-70's, 20 ga slugger, and 45 cal BP... a true gun for all seasons... the best deal you'll find in our area is at Kinsey's Outdoors... they have a BP on the shelf for just under $500... you can make some seriously good deals on barrels on e-bay, so long as you don't need it tomorrow... other than that the others here have pretty well covered it for barrel prices... here is a site by a fellow who has done more for the Encore and Contenders then anyone I know of... about anything you'd ever want or need to know can be found here... http://www.bellmtcs.com/forum/index....b22cb7acf31d2a http://www.bellmtcs.com/ |
