how about the T/C handguns?
 

I have been pondering one of the T/C handguns. Does anyone shoot one of them. Also how much would I expect to buy one for? I know they aint cheap... are they worth it? Seems like it would be neat to have such a small package in the woods, but still have 200 yard capabilities. What caliber...I love my .243 rifle, so I was thinking of that or maybe .308 because i bet they kick like a mule. Gimme ur opinions.

You are talking about a Encore not the Contender G2.
I use a Encore in 7-08 for deer and the recoil is not bad ,I strongly recomend ear plugs for the muzzel blast .
My gun/load shoots about 1 1/2" at 200 yds off sand bags with the Bushnell 2X6 x32 scope
I can not do that from the stand but it is a true 200 yd deer gun
Not sure of the price for a complete gun I bought a recever and barrels and rifle barrels and rifle stock at different times
Worth it you bet for the litness alone and the looks you get draging out your deer from the deerless hunters

I have the Encore 15" in the 7mm-08 and .223,both accurate...;)

I have the G2 contender. So far I just have a carbine barrel in 45-70. The G2 carbine is a very light handy gun to use. It will use all of the Contender barrels and fore ends. The gripes will not interchange with the contender. Check out FoX Ridge Outfitters for all the options. Great guns.

I hunt with Encores and Contenders and I've become addicted to them!! I have Encore pistol barrels in 22-250 and 308 and both will shoot sub MOA off sandbags with the right loads. As for the recoil of the 308, some might say its too much but it don't bother me any. I've got a 45/70 barrel for the Contender frame so the 308 is almost a ***** cat.lol With a lot of practice, the T/C is definately a 200+ yard deer gun. Like johnch said, get a good set of ear plugs. My 45/70 has the "muzzle-tamer"(brake) on it and it'll wake the dead!!!!

I hunt Deer with My Encore in 45/70 and I love it. Well worth the money. I think I paid under 3 for the frame and another 250 for the barrel. And another 250-300 for the scope and mounts. Money well spent.
