RE: which marlin 1895?
 

I got the 22" blued 45-70 and love shooting it. Only lower powered factory loads so far but it is a lot of fun to shoot. I like the feel of the longer barrel, feel like it gives a better and longer shooting plane and prefer the pistol grip. I put a Leu 2X7 VXII on it with removable mounts. Shot two does this weekend with it and they died, spose that is the whole idea in the end.

hey guys I really apreciate all of the insight. I called around today and found a used 1895 22 inch barrel with a scope but no checkering on the stocks for $370.00 and found a new 1895g for $449.00 at gander mountain. by the way I live and Il. and also hunt in North Carolina so I will probably go with the blue. I will keep every one posted on my choice. Once again thanks
