With proper bullets...any of these will be adequate.

I have shot all of the big game animal here in Maine with my 308 but would be just as happy with any of the others you have mentioned.

What everybody here said....
I will add that in Alberta, a lot of elk has been shot with .270.. The 270 is indeed the most popular caliber out here in the foothills of the Rockies. That's just my observation.. |

ORIGINAL: redsox3624 what if i threw moos in the mix? Like everybody else has said, any of those calibers will work perfectly for all the animals listed. If it's just a coin-flip, then, I personally would leave out the .280 and 7mm-08, because of cartridge availability and cost. Beyond that, if they're all in the same rifle, *shrug* maybe the '06 because it's just a hair more versatile than the .270, but I'd trust my .270 with my life. |

None of the animals will know the difference. The 06 has the edge shooting 180gr bullets at moose.
