If I could do it over again.

If I could sell all of my guns for what I payed for them & start all over again? I would have fewer rifles. They would be spaced out so as not to "over lap" each other.
My collection would include:
22lr, (general all-around plinking.)
223, (varmits)
22-250, (varmits)
25-06-Remington or 270-Winchester deer/pronghorn antelope.(flip a coin):)
338-R.U.M. Elk, bear, moose.

I spend many more days every year shooting paper, coyotes, gophers & prairie dogs than I do big game hunting. That is why I picked two varmit rifles.

Would you guys/gals change your gun collection?

I feel the same. I would buy a rifle shot gun, turkey gun, and keep my 7mm08 with ziess 3-9 and just mess with my hand loads.

I personally don't think you can ever have to many. So what if they overlap.

My point is I do not need all of these options: 25-06, 270, 30-06 & 7mm-08. My wife hunts so I need twice as many guns as one person. I have a total of 16-rifles. I know I could thin them out & never miss them.
I know we could handle everything with 8 to 10-rifles.

personally i believe no person needs more than 4 guns,
Small game/plinking gun (22lr etc.)
Shotgun
Varmit gun
Big game gun, if you get a gun with a bullet size of around 30 caliber you can hunt just about anything with it as long as it has enough power behind it.

but thats just my opinion

You all have spelled out my plan basically!!!

I am just starting my collection, but have decided to look at getting top quality guns in each category...

So far my list includes

1) a Kimber Varmint Classic in .22 LR (still on order - over 6 months now)
2) Browning A-bolt in 7mm-08 (to be later upgraded to a Sako 75)
3) Rock River Arms Varmint AR-15 in .223 (my newest purchase)
4) Thompson Center Omega SS Fluted thumbhole stock .50 cal muzzleloader
5) Mossberg 500 camo 12 shotgun (for Turkey)
6) H&R 20 gauge rifled slug gun (for deer in states where rifle is illegal)
7) Kimber 1911 Team Match Target handgun in .45 ACP
8) Ruger P95 in 9mm (to be traded for another 1911 at some point)
9) Bersa Thunder .380 (CCW, to be traded for a better option at some point)

To be added...

another deer and up rifle 308, 25-06 or 30-06
another varmint gun in 204 or 22-250 or maybe 222
a ruger blackhawk in .44 mag
a TC contender in something that bites me at that moment...

When has 'need' ever had anything to do with hunting, shooting, fishing and etc..

If I lost all of my guns tomorrow I'd start with an Encore and gradually buy up different caliber barrels til I got tired of it and wanted something different and start the multiple rifle buying process all over again.
