Browning BAR

I thought about trading my little 7mm08 abolt for a .270 BAR safari. What do you think? Both guns are in perfect condition.

Based on my personal experiences with a Bar that jammed in cold, wet weather despite proper cleaning and lubrication,I would keep the A-bolt.I also prefer the 7mm-08 cartridge over the 270win.

i would keep the abolt, not a big fan of high power rifle auto's, even though i would say the bar would be the best choice in an auto. i'll stick with a bolt or a single shot that is what its really about anyway;), a good shot. best of luck

btw i've only got 3 autos rifle/shotguns that i've really been impressed by

a ruger 10/22
a benelli sbe
and an old browning a-5 begium made

Although the BAR is likely the best semi auto on the market, the Bolt action will never fail you and is lighter to carry.

Thats about what I figured. Im gonna let my cousin use my 7mm08 in micro for a while, for trade of the BAR. He is young and the little bolt action fits him better, I will probaly keep the BAR for a few years till he grows up and well trade back. Mt hands, where at in ne al are you from, I go up to FT Payne several times a year.

WHOA WHOA WHOA, wait a minute Bort. If you havent picked up a new LongTrac man you are missin IT!!! They feel NOTHING like the BAR Safari, in fact they make them feel like an anvil. They are even considerably lighter than the BAR Lightweight. Trust me, they feel GREAT. I am not typically an auto fan, but the BAR is one fine piece of equipment. Yeah there is more to clean and they might not have the overal toughness of a bolt, but when you are reasonable they wont let you down.

Check one out before you decide,
RA
