moly bullet break-in???
I have read several posts concerning barrel break-in.
One said not to use moly bullets (during a lengthy shoot/clean rigamarole), others say not to worry about breaking a barrel at all, ect. My thought is to run a box of molys through my new M70 ultimate shadow stainless 300 WSM. If there are any pores (snags?) why not fill them with a slicker material than copper, sort of a teflon coating...anyone done this? The first shots/box will be to sight in a scope. probably a 3x9 or so for big game |
RE: moly bullet break-in???
breaking in is not about filling in but smoothing out. You are defeating your purpose trying to do it with moly. Some guns need it, some guns don't. Only way to find out is to try. If you get very little copper after 3 rounds, then you can quit. Some guns never quit copper fouling.
