Lightfield Hybrid Exp slugs

To clarify the use of these slugs in smoothebore barrels. Someone had sent me an email regarding why I was stating these slugs can be used in smoothbore barrels. The box of slugs I have clearly states that they can be used in Improved Cylinder smoothbore shotguns. I will scan the box shortly and post

I have , and currently use these slugs in my H&R ultra & Ithaca Featherlight. Even with the Ithaca I am able to get 4" groups at 100yds.

RE: Lightfield Hybrid Exp slugs

I think the box sez that to try and keep as many customers as possible. Sales tactic, ya know. Sell. Sell. Sell.

As sabots, they are mostlikely to have been designed & engineered for rifled barrels. A rifled barrel should give the best accuracy.

Those things are expensive!

Best slugs on the market

I have used these slugs for at least five years now and they are

extremly accurate and have execellent knock down power.

Expensive yes, worth it hell yeah. They are best to be fired from a

rifled barrel rather than a smooth bore.

I wouldn't use Sabot Slugs in a smooth bore slug barrel no matter what the box says. I know a few guys that use some of the slower Sabot Slugs with smooth bore barrels with rifled choke tubes in them.

I use Lightfield Hybrid EXP Sabot Slugs in both my 11-87 12 ga. and 11-87 20 ga.. Both have 21" fully rifled barrels with the cantilvers scope mounts and Leupold 2-7x33mm Shotgun Scopes on them. They'll shoot 2 1/2" to 3" groups at 100 yards if I'm up to it.

The best part about slug guns in New York State is every few years they add more and more counties within the state that rifles can be used in, which is currently about 75% of the state now. So the old dinosaur slug guns are getting left in the safes and the rifles are more afield now then ever before. . . . .thank god! :)

NYH! ;)
