RE: Remington model 11
I had one for 20 yr.'s. It was heavy, solid, beautifully made and utterly reliable. The one thing you had to know is how to adjust the friction rings under the forearm. There is a steel ring which is beveled on one side and flat on the other and a bronze one designed to retard the recoil of the barrel on heavy loads. Muzzle up, the steel ring goes above the bronze friction ring on the magazine tube. When you shot heavy loads, you oriented the bevel toward the bronze ring. When you shot light loads, the bevel went away from the bronze ring. My dad bought that gun used, I sold it 20 yr.'s later for what he paid for it.
