Clean Burnin' Ball Powder

I posted a similar question in the reloading forum. Got one excellent reply there but I'm still open for other suggestions. I need any comments from people who know of a cleaner burning ball powder than WW-748 it will be used for .223 loads from 55-69grs in AR-15 type rifles. I want to try to reduce the fouling in the bolt carrier. If not I'm gonna try the H-BENCH MARK that was recommended; not a ball powder but looks very interesting.

Big Ed...I am just getting BACK into reloading, so I don't have an answer to your question. I'm just glad we're off the 50 subject. LOL

I'm with you...it's funny how folks get off subject. Some folks just don't realize that it's OK to disagree.

GOOD HUNTING

I have found BLC-2 to be a very clean burning powder. Works very well, almost perfect, for the .223 Rem. I have also found that AA XMR-2015 is an excellent very clean burning powder for the .223 Rem.

Ed, I've used H-335 and BLC-2 for 223. Both are reasonably clean burning. I've found that Thunderbird 2208 burns cleaner than either of them and is cheaper also. It's surplus military powder. Beyond that, I can't define it. It's available from Thunderbird Cartridge Company, Phoenix, AZ. It's burning characteristics are similar to BLC-2, but it burns slightly cooler. <img src=icon_smile_cool.gif border=0 align=middle>
