Smith & Wesson Model 657 Revolver

I went to the local gun show in lexington NC yesterday.

And I got a Smith&Wesson catalog and looking in it and come across,

There Model 657 Classic Hunter Revolver in 41 Magnum.

That gun looks so sweet.

So What Do All Of You Think Of It For Deer Hunting?

Thank You

RE: Smith & Wesson Model 657 Revolver

The S&W 657 is an excellent revolver, as is the .41Magnum cartridge. Unfortunatly, the
44mag. was well established before the 41mag. came along. The 41mag. is probably the
better all around magnum cartridge, and is great for deer hunting.
Note: Bullet diameter for the 44mag = .429". The 41mag. = .410". Not a whole lot of
difference there, and the 41mag is generally a little flatter shooting in factory loads.
But, there's the hitch. The 41mag is now really a handloaders cartridge. Yes, there are
some excellent factory loads available, but not near the amount as with the 44mag.
You won't go wrong with a 41mag., but you just won't have the same versatility as with
a 44 (if using factory ammo).
