another slug question

I know that everyone says riffled slugs for smoothbores and sabots for riffled barrels but what would happen if you shot riffled slugs out of a riffled barrel ? would the accuracy decrease a little or would it be way off ? or would the gun gods come down and take my gun away ?

Accuracy would be horrible. And you might damage it.

Accuracy for a few shots can be pretty good, BUT, you'll load up your rifling with lead that is a pain to get rid of. No good reason to do it.

RE: another slug question

Once again UncleNorby is right on the money. My hunting partner insists on shooting Remington sluggers from his rifled barrel. He gets impressive groups out to 80-90 yds,BUT the lead build up in his barrel's rifling is very obvious. I'm afraid he'll one day transform it into a smoothbore. He insists that the lead will come out with some scubbing. To me, that seems like a lot of work, and risks damaging the rifling. His response is that the money he saves using rifled slugs instead of sabots can buy a new barrel. Hard headed, he is.
