Recently added a compact to the collection and im not sure im sold on it. Any other opinions on this gun out there? thanks....

mitch sorry i haven't been on for a few days i like mine alot it's accurate and dependable not much else to say i like H&K guns the takedown for this model takes about 30 sec.

I have the compact 9, it's a great gun. HK makes top quality stuff.

It's a great gun! All the new USP's are really good guns that perform under some of the most adverse conditions period. IN the Hk instruction manual it's stated that the gun needs very little oil to function.

At department's range staff tested the USP's in conditions like, no oil period, and the gun functioned flawlessly for 200 rounds. (The test was over after 200 rounds of a totally dry gun with no lubrication.

The gun was tested where it was dropped in a bucket of mud. The bore cleared of mud and a full magazine shot through the gun without any malfunctions.

I love the gun and I swear by it. I carry a .45 on duty and it's my own personal weapon. However, I'm issued a Beretta 9mm and to this day I choose to carry the Hk. Yet...I believe the Beretta 92FS would outperform the Hk any day of the week. Only due to experience in totally adverse training conditions, which are too long to go into detail here, the 92FS is a "magical" gun...
