Browning, Remington, Ruger, Marlin

I am looking to buy a Rifle. Can you recommend one? I will mainly use it for Whitetale deer. But would like to have a caliber that I could use on elk, sheep, bear, mule deer. I would like to keep it under 500$ without the scope.

You will have to be more specific. What will you hunt with this gun and under what conditions?Do you have a caliber in mind or is that part of what you are asking?

Of the 3 you mentioned I prefer the Ruger but I'm sure any of the three would be great choices.

The Remington and the Browing are fine rifles Yes, But they are a bit overpriced if you ask me. I think that Ruger has the best rifle for the money besides there trigger, if you slap in a Timney Trigger you can have a great Rifle. Timney's run about 80 buck's.

Of the three choices, I would select the Browning. I like the features of the Browning over Remington. I would look at Winchester and Savage, as well.

I am completely satisfied with my Browning A-Bolt.

If price is an issue I'd say go with the savage and don't look back. However, if you can afford the remington or even the browning, then I'd go with them too. You really can't go wrong in my opinion.
