Remington 597 22Mag after 2001

I talked with Remington and they told me that all problems have been worked out since 2001. They said they have made updates and that if I have any problems with the gun to send it to them and they will take care of it. I really like the look of the gun. Is it worth a try? Is there any one out there who has had trouble with a 2001 version?
