They are crap, and not worth nothin. I carried one for 7 yrs as my duty gun the only issued sidearm for my department. They have a long trigger pull, somewhere around 14lbs., would often break down often. We now carry H&K USP they are ok, still love my off duty Glock

PS. I do agree about the trigger but I would think that would be similar on all double actions ..

We also cary the 4046 Smith for duty pistols. I have found, minus the heavy trigger pull, that the gun is well made and will stand up to anyting you want to put it through. The gun requires little to no maintainance and should not be oiled just cleaned with a wire brush. During my training the Smith was the only gun that did not have to be repaired out of 450 students. The Sig's went down the most. Any way I love the Smith and again except for the trigger pull its a fantastic gun.

I've owned a boatload of the various S&W autos. They've all been super reliable and trouble free. The one negative is that they have seemed to be marginal in the accuracy department compared to some of the other brands.
