shotgun choke

IS it ok to use a full choke in a 12 gauge shotgun when using 00buckshot?

RE: shotgun choke

NO! Do not use anything tighter than modified choke with buckshot. Anything tighter can cause potentially dangerous situations as the shot is actually constricted too much and can cause pressure problems possibly damaging your barrel. 00 buck is only good out to about 30-40 yards anyway. If you want to go past that and still use a shotgun, switch to slugs.

Sure, remington says its ok. Don't believe internet sources when it comes to stuff like this. Even myself. Go to the source. www.remington.com

Now, most people have seen bad patterning results with Full. Best seems to be IM or M. You owe it to yourself and your hunting to try.

OOPS! My mistake. It's slugs that should not be used with a full choke. (According to Mossberg) Guess I should have gone back and re-read my facts before posting. But I was sure I was right, Mossberg is the one that's wrong. I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.

(Those last 2 comments were sarcastic, for those who may not catch it)
