I have the -500 combo. I have found the shotgun to be very reliable (although the shooter might need some work!)

I own a mossberg 500A and a Ithaca model 37.I have hunted deer and turkey with both guns.I like the mossberg 500A with the screw in chokes for turkey, and would not trade my Ithaca 37 as far as shooting slugs for deer.If I was to stick with a Mossberg as you stated you want to, I would go with a 500 with the screw in chokes and I think you will be pleased with the performance.

I would keep my Mossberg 500 over any other brand any day.

Browning has a good deal going on right now on their 12 gauge 3 1/2" BPS. It's a 75 dollar rebate direct from Browning....if you know someone with a FFL you can get that for a really good price through the rest of this year.

What is a FFL? Are they as light as Mossbergs? Thanks,

Bubba

VA Hunter15 what is a FFL? Federal Firearms License. In other words a dealer license required to purchase firearms from distributors.Ruger Redhawk

FFL is a Federal Firearms License. Individuals with a FFL will sometimes order guns at 10 percent markup or less. I don't know what the Mossberg's weight is but the Browning is about 8 1/2 pounds.
