Two Sakos Shoot 1/2 MOA

We got a new bench rest today and I decided to try it out with a variety of our family rifles. Our two Sakos were outstanding. At 100 yards, the .30-06 Finnbear with 150gr Barnes X handloads shot a group smaller than 1/2 inch. The fisrt two shots were touching and the 3rd was only a hair above them. Things got really interesting when the 7mm Rem Mag came out. This is a Sako Deluxe with a 6X Zeiss scope. I shot 5 factory loads through this rifle with no cool down period. When I walked up to the backstop I noticed that all of the bullets went through the same hole. It left one ragged hole. Pictures will follow this week.

I have an old Sako in 243 and it will drive tacks too!I haven't shot it in a long time but I could cover the group with a quarter with Factory ammo. Ruger Redhawk

Fantastic. If you want that same preformance for half the price take a look at a Tikka. It wears the same Sako barrel and trigger group. The only difference is the stock finish and number of lugs on the bolt 2 vs. 3. Makes me wonder why everyone wants a custom gun.

I have seen some very good groups from sakos but some were no better than with any other rifle. How many groups did you fire?If you shoot several groups with each rifle and they are all as good you certainly have two great shooting rifles.

Just about anything I feed my '06 Colt (Sako) from 1959 puts them in 1 and a 1/4 inch. It seem to have no preference.
