Got my Old Mauser back

Several years ago I sold my first 6.5x55 to a cousin of mine. He is now selling all his guns as his health has ended his hunting days. He did however remember that I ask him to let me know if he ever wanted to sell it. I went down the other day and bought it back from him. He never got around to shoot it and still had the reloads that I gave him with the gun. It has a World Ckass straight 4X power scope on it. Those were good scopes. Very clear and very dependable. I sold about 50 of those straight powers with never a customer coplaint.. This one shot 1/2 to 5/8 inch 100 yard groups with the first load I ever tried which was the 140 Grain Hornady bullet with 3031 powder. Can't wait to get out to the range with it again.

Yeah, the WorldClass scopes made in Taiwan were good scopes. Too bad production was moved to the mainland.
Two weeks ago, I was shooting my Tikka Sporter 223Rem at the range with a 6-24 Taiwan WorldClass scope. The guy next to me had a custom built varmint rifle with a scope that cost well into four figures. When we walked down to the targets at 200 yards, he showed me his groups. He had printed four groups with little clusters of holes around the "X". I congratulated him and did not say anything, as he looked at my target. My rifle had printed four shot groups all in tight clovers in ragged one hole groups. "Wow!" the guy said, "What sort of scope are you using!" "Awwww!", I responded, "I paid too much for that dang scope! It is an $80 Tasco!" Sometimes it is fun to let the results speak for themselves.

Those are the best kinds of deals where you can buy back your guns and not have to say I made a mistake in selling that.

Yea. Thats for sure. At the time I sold it I had a lot of rifles and had to thin out a little. I had another Swedish Mauser that shot almost as well. This one I just bought back has a Timney trigger and a composite stock. The sad thing is the hunting trips with my cousin have come to an end. I quess it will happen to all of us sooner or later.
