Trophy Bonded Bear Claw bullet
It seems my 7mm does not like the 160 grain nosler partition bullet. It shoots them all over the place in about 6 inch groups. It does however like Federal Classic Hi-shok bullets and gives me very tight groups with this bullet. From what I have read, Federal Hi-Shoks are not meant for big game animals such as elk and moose. I have also tried other 160-165 grain bullets and my gun doesn't like them. It only seems to like the heavy 175 grain bullets. I know you can buy Trophy Bonded Bear Claw bullets in 175 grain. Does anyone have any thoughts on how this bullet will compare to the nosler partition? Also how will it compare to the Speer Grand Slam? Which my gun seems to like in 175 grain also. I have heard the Speer Grand Slam is a middle of the road bullet for big game. All my hunting is done in the Canadian Rockies, so some of my shots can stretch to 400 yards.
Thanks for the advice.

rdj.
I had a hard time working a load up with the TBBC bullets.
I like the Swift A-Frame bullets, and the Horn. 175 gr. bullets.
I reload for my seven mag, and get 1/2 to 3/4 groups consistantly.
They both are great bullets for large game.
Hope it helps.

Swift , Nos., and Barnes, are three of the best Big game bullets that are made.
Deep penitration, good groups, great penitration.
The thing about the three is,either you like them or you dont.
I would give the A-Frames a chance. I will just about bet that you will like the way they group, and you wont get much of a better round for big game.

my experience with TBBC is no..I have yet to work up a load or buy factory ammo using this bullet that shoots accurately in a number of rifles I have owned. I have not yet owned a rifle that didn't like Nosler partitions. Why don't you give Corelockt Ultra bullets and see how they work out.
