8 year old thread, but my 270 is a Tikka T3 Lite and I love the rifle. Smooth action, accurate, affordable. Value for the money, that's for sure.

I've had a Tikka T3 lite for a few years now and there's a lot to like about the gun. I normally reload but I have not with the T3 because I've yet to find a brand of ammo that it won't shoot. Everything MOA. Don't twist what I just said. Core lokts shot an MOA group and the different federals all shot MOA groups but they were in different places on the target. Does that make sense.

Makes sense to me. Different load, maybe different shape to the bullet means different ballistics, so different point of impact.

The more accurate/consistent the rifle, the easier it is to notice differences between different ammunitions.

i can only assume being the thread is almost 10 years old either tikka has changed their ways or the rifle complained about back then was a pos.
my tikka t3 .300 winmag is a great rifle with the smoothest action i could ever ask for. it makes me question what a person gains by spending a thousand more other than bragging rights.

I went back and read some of the old posts about the "sloppy" action. I have a German Mauser. It has a so-called sloppy action, primarily because it was designed for use on the battlefield and you can dump a shovel load of dirt in it and still work the bolt. You may give up a little in accuracy, but not enough to matter to hunters (and soldiers), but maybe competition shooters.
