Over/Under o/u Shotgun under $500.00

Hello

Which o/u shotgun under $500 would you buy recommend.

I looked at few brands and models and can't decide on the one I want.
I'm looking to spend around $500 , but I’m willing to got up around $1000 if the gun is worth it.

The ones i looked at are
EAA|Baikal $ 400-500
Stoeger $400-600
Huglu ArmsCo $500-800

Ruger ABOUT $1100
Winchester $1200
Remington $1200

From what i have seen the EAA|Baikal seems to be the best for under 500, I seen them for $369 for very basic ones and $459 for nickel model with some engraving.

I don't care much for all the engraving but some would be nice.
I care more for reliability, and good shooting.

Thanks

The least expensive O/U I'd recommend to anyone is the SKB 505.....save your money until you can get a good one.

What are you using it for? That would play a big part in this decision as well as answers you will get on the subject. As is, I do tend to agree with Vapodog, save up a little more cash and do more homework on the subject. If possible shoot a few at a trap or skeet club.
Barrel length is also important. Shooting grouse or quail in tight cover a 26"-28" is good pheasant, duck, geese, sporting clays 28"-30" and strictly trap up to 32" barrels.
One suggestion would be to look for a used Belgium Browning Superposed, these are well made guns, but stray from it's bastard cousin the citori. You should be able to find these in very good condition for around 900 bucks or a little more.

theres nothing wrong with citori's they well made gun and will perform flawlessly. some people get the idea that there junk because browning firearms are made in japan. The only thing wrong wtih browning is that if you order a firearm they may not show up for a year or so, because they make one or so large shipment. a browing belgium are hard to come across because people dont want to get rid of them. I would save your money and get a browning. the rugers are nice and they have a freefloating cooling rib, but there known to be pinchers. if you buy a used over a under look at the action release, when the action is closed it should be off set to the right but if its in the center the gun has been used lots, and is beginning to wear. i hope that this helped.

I have to laugh when I hear people turn thier noses up at the Citori because it is made in Japan. The superposed was a nice firearm but the citori is actually more rugged and is not a major project to reblue as the superposed is because of its welding system used on barrels. I have a Citori upland special and it has outlasted my buddies various 101s and Berettas. Matter of fact one time we were shooting sporting clays and one other gun failed (beretta) half way through the round and we just used my citori and trust me she was pretty darn hot by the end of the round. I also have had enough of American cars that fall apart after 2 years and have no resale value. I now drive Toyotas. So Japanese products in my opinion are superior. Ever here of Lexus, Acura ? My buddies all drove full size GM trucks for years and after replacing engines and trannies are now replacing them with Toyota Tundras. Go ahead flame me if you want:)

i have a stoeger Condor Supreme, and it has wood just as nice as the citori, and many other O/U. has auto ejectors, and selective triggering. best thing is i paid 379 new, cant beat that. so far the gun is flawless. good luck

I will recommend you to save some more money and go for the browning. They are a very well made shotgun.

SKB is also a good gun and a little less expensive than the browning.

Remember, you always get what you pay for, in y opinion you should stay away from the cheap guns and buy one that is nice, have a good feel in your shoulder and last you a lifetime......or two!!!:D
