Savage Accu Trigger 166 anyone?

All right guys, I walked into G.I. Joes to by the Remington 710 .30-06, but walked out with the new Savage Accu Trigger 166 .300 mag. I know I left the store with the right gun, and I did my research on both (price was my big issue) but tell me if any of you own one and how it shoots for yins.
I don't want to hear about what you read on the internet if you don't own one. When I researched the 710, the general consensus is it's crap. But, I found companies who tested the rifle and said it was more than adequate for the price. The Accu Trigger looks great all over the internet, but I want to hear from someone who's had or has one. Let me know what you think and I'll get back to yins on how my new baby,"Heather" is firing.
Thanks

You had a guardian angel watching over you that prevented a disaster on your part(buying that 710). Have only heard good things about the Accutrigger

There was a good article recently,,, they compared the varmint cals and the Savage was rated really highly. I tested one this past summer in .243 and it shot great. I thought that the Accutrigger was awsome! It's definately a top notch item. I can't imagine that you will have any complaints about that one.

I have to say "GOOD CHOICE"

I have a Savage 110 in .30-06, and have handled the 710 before, though my Savage does not have the accutrigger, it shoots good, and is built better IMO than the 710.

It's funny you should say guardian Angel, OldElkHunter, the day before I wrote a check out for the 710, but because it was a starter check they wouldn't let me buy it. When I walked in the next morning on payday. there she was, the .300 that wasn't there the day before. Some things are just meant to be.:D

I purchased the Savage Accu Trigger 116FXP3 .300 at GI Joes for $399 on sale right now. If your not familiar with GI Joes they have a chain of stores throughout the states.

I have a Savage 110FP in 25-06 with the accutrigger. It's a significant improvement over the standard triggers that come with the standard gun models. I've read some comments that one has to get used to them over a standard trigger. I didn't see this problem, I was able to use it right off the bat. No creep and they can go as light as 2#s. I like the safety feature of having to depress the center piece before they fire. This will preclude an accidental discharge while handling or even dropping the rifle with a light trigger setting.

Good choice....

I have a 116 in 30-06 with the accutrigger and it is a nice rifle. I probably have 300-400 rounds through mine and it is consistently under 1" with a 5 shot group at 100 yds. It shoots better than I can, so what more can you ask for? My best is a 3 shot .55" group and just for the record that was with Hornady light magnums in 165 grain BTSP. I will say the accutrigger takes a little getting used to, but after a few sessions it's no problem.

Great choice! I have the savage 11fl in the 300wsm. the trigger is great, mine came factory set at three pounds and no creep whatsoever. the more i shoot the gun the smoother the bolt gets, which it was never a bear to begin with. i am very happy with mine and i'm sure you'll be happy with yours. i haven't tried adjusting my trigger, because it felt good right where it was at. i shoot 150gr. hornady sst (reloads) and have a nice group at 100 yrds. Hope you enjoy your new savage!!
