25-06
My brother just bought a new Tikka T3 25-06 in stainless steel. Sighted it in for him and really liked it. Now I am thinking about buying one in stead of the 270 or the 280 that I was thinking of buying at first. I don’t know a thing about the 25-06 or tikka guns and don’t know if this would be a smart move to buy the 25-06 or 270 or 280. Please HELP!!!

RE: 25-06
It's a great caliber. Accurate and soft shooting.

RE: 25-06
For a deer rifle it's one of the better ones in my opinion . good range and mild recoil .

RE: 25-06
A real flat shooter. Awsome deer rifle, great for coyotes also. A bit light for elk.

25-06 Rem just wishes it was a 270 Win. It can do nothing that the 270 can't do better.

That's true too.

RE: 25-06
For deer the 25-06 is nearly as good as a 270 or 280. When the game gets bigger or really far out then the two bigger cousins take over. The 25-06 is really about the perfect varmit deer combo. Much better than the 243. In my expierence.

RE: 25-06
depends on what you want to hunt. for deer and varmits I'd go with the 25-06. Its a flat shooting shell, very accurate. I dont know anything about tika, so if it were me, id get a remington or a browning medalion

RE: 25-06
The 25-06 has more than enough power for any deer hunting. The 270 does not add any real advantage for deer hunting only.
