T/C Encore

Does anyone know anything about the T/C Encore??? I've been thinking about getting one cuz I want a .45-70 gov. and a .30-06 that I wouldn't mind shooting the life out of. With interchangeable barrels I could live with killing a barrel, then if need be, I'd get another one. I'm thinking I'd get a .243, .45-70, a .30-06, and maybe a .50 cal muzzleloader barrel for it if I bought one. How much do they cost and are they worth a darn?? I don't want to throw away $$ on a rifle and a bunch of barrels that can't hit the broadside of a barn.

I bought a muzzle loader last year. and i will tell you it's the last one i'll buy! the encore 209 x 50 is the easiest to clean, scope friendly, accurate smokepole you can buy. i wont even consider any other muzzle loader again. i want a 45 cal barrel now. and i see where they make a 450 marlin now. you pay for them thats for sure. once you get over that i think you'll be happy. but i'm telling you the first time you clean the muzzle loader you will be hooked.everything goes out the barrel.

First off, I don't have an Encore, I have a Contender Carbine.. I have a friend who has an Encore handgun in 308, and he says it's the most accurate "rifle" he has. Another friend has an Encore rifle in 22-250, who is still working on loads, but pretty regularly shoots under an inch at 100 yds... I have no doubt he can get much smaller groups when he settles on the right combination... In short, I think an Encore will consistently outshoot nearly ANY bolt action rifle out of the box...... I think you should buy you a frame and stock, and start finding the barrels you want... look on EBAY and other auction sites, check out Bullberry.com for custom barrels... you should be able to get an Encore ready to go for around 450 dollars or so.... I got the Contender because I wanted a light, short rifle in 22 K-Hornet... looking back, I would go with an Encore, as the weight/size isn't that much different.... and the caliber selection in the Encore is WAY better....

I bought the .50 cal. muzzleloader barrel and had intentions of getting a couple more interchangeable tubes.

I shot a pronghorn buck and a whitetail doe with it last fall.

Now I think that I might just hunt with a muzzleloader for everything from now on.

Robin.

Got the .45 ML for X-mas this year. Going to get a couple barrels for it. Probably a .22-250 or .223 and a .300WM. One question I had was if I could convert with the same frame from the rifle to the handgun by changing the stock/forearm and barrel?

I have been trying to get a encore in the 45 muzzleloader for over 2 months now.The gun shop owners say they have tryed to get it from several different distrubtors but no one has one.Are they in that short of supply or is it here just in NC?I wrote T/C and they promised to send info, but I haven't even heard from them since.
I am wanting the blue barrel with the composite stock but the catalog only shows wood stock with blue barrel, any one seen a blue barrel with composite stock in the 45 cal?
Cabelas had them but said they were sold out and wouldn't get any more????

I picked up an Encore when they first came out in the 7mm-08 15" barrel...real shooter! Then I started too buy different barrels and grips for the 15" barrels. Next I went to a rifle barrels with 26" tube. They are the most accurate gun I own and I even took the Encore 25-06 a pronghorn hunt this past season to New Mexico and took a nice trophy! Don't worry about "wasting" money, worry about how to stop yourself from going crazy buying every barrel they have...
Check out this site,I picked up a 26" .240 Weatherby from them: www.virginvalleyguns.com

Hunt Safe!

The Encore is a tack driver. You can get M/L, rifle, handgun, and shotgun barrels. Can't get much better than that!

Took about two months to get my .45 in stainless. I am assuming based on the comments above that I can change from the rifle to the handgun with no problems?

Wal-Mart sells the 209-50 for about $460.(blued) They have to order it from their catalog. Go ask them. I don't know if they have the .45.

RE: T/C Encore

The Encore is a pleasure to shoot. It mounts to my shoulder and puts my eye right to the scope. I've got the muzzleloader,45-70,7mm mag and .300 mag. So far I have let 4 friends shoot it and they bought one within weeks. I have several rifles but it will be a long time before I take any of them hunting.

RE: T/C Encore

I just got an e-mail from T/C they said they didn't offer the 45 cal muzzleloader in a composite stock and blue barrel, you had to either get a wood stock and blue barrel or a composite stock and stainlees barrel.
I was under the impression that the parts were interchangable,I saw where you could order different grips and stocks and barrels for them.
So I take it the 45 cal is different from the 50 cals.not interchange able, the 50 has several different stocks to choose from.
Rick I can find the barrels, but they are useless if I don't have the stock and action to go with it.
I checked again Fri. and nome of the distrubators has either one yet.

RE: T/C Encore

I have the 209x50 M/L and love it. Shoots m.o.a. groups with 3 pyrodex pellets and 220 gr. Knight all copper sabots with CCI primers out to 100 yds.
Last season I bought the 20 ga. rifled bbl. and it shoots m.o.a. groups using Rem. new copper solids out to 100 yds.
T/C's are almost unbeliveable...until you shoot one.
The down side is that all your other guns will get jealous and collect dust.
My feeling is that you will become a better shot because you are using the same trigger feel and pull with each bbl.
I fully reccommend their stuff!
