Beretta 390 vs. Urika 391
Does anyone know the difference between the Berertta 391 urika at around 800 dollars compared to the Walmart 390 version for 490 dollars? Alot of my friends duck hunt with the walmart guns. I don't really like thier loading routines but they have not failed them as mine hasn't either. When you shoot your last shot, I notice you can't just put one in the chamber and hit the release button and be ready to fire. If the 390 is just as good, its definately a deal compared to the 1187

Some say that the 390 is better than the AL391. I guess it's come down to personal preferance. The main differences betweeen the two are. The 391 has a little more complicated gas system even though they are similar. The 391 has a bolt lock lever on the left side of the receiver. The forearm on the 391 is much slimmer. The receiver is rounded in the back on the 391 as opposed to the angled receiver of the 390. Both have an automatic magazine cutoff and weigh about the same.

BC I see the stock as a difference and maybe some external finishing but otherwise it's the same basic gun. I think it's a bargain at 490 and wouldn't hesitate to buy one.

Yea, for a person wanting a good semi, I would suggest it. Still like the 11-87 and golds much better. But definately a solid buy.

With the 391 you can just jack a shell into the chamber and shut the bolt. As for the stock configuration, that depends on what model you get ie. field, sporting clays, trap, skeet. I have a sporting clays model although I use it for duck and goose.
My dad has an identical gun and has been using it for snows out in the dakotas for the past 4 years. Very dusty, dirty conditions with no problems. He said all of the guides use either beneli's or berrettas for autos and benelli or Rem 870 for pumps. |
