Default Coyote getters

Do you think that it would be safe to make a couple of coyote getters in 12 ga.?? If you're not familiar with them, a coyote getter is a fixed position gun with a bit of meat attached to a trip wire, a yote shows up to eat it, pulls on it, then it fires, usually a .38 blank loaded with cyanide into their mouth, but I want to make one with a 12 ga shell instead. Do you think it would work???

I know one thing...If my dog happened upon your "getter" we'd have some words. Also, if a fox or bobcat showed up and it wasn't season it would be poaching.

Unless I am misunderstanding your post...that's just askin for trouble.

what would happen if by chance someone tripped on it or a kid walked by it and started messing with it and someone got hurt, not a smart move at all

I can't believe this Gismo you are talking about would be legal.Using poison has to be illegal. I don't agree with your idea. This is very unethical in my opinion.I hope you rethink your idea. Ruger Redhawk

Don't do it in Illinois, unless you don't mind picking up a felony criminal conviction.

Your game laws must be a heck of alot different then anywhere else. As far as liability goes you're asking for big trouble even if it is legal in your state.
