RE: Bore Snakes
I got two or three. Can't really figure out how to use properly. When I go in the field I carry one that is little oily. Every evening at camp, I would run it thru the bore. I mean are you supposed to put solvents on them? How best to clean them later? If you did use them for cleaning, how do you tell if the bore is clean without patches. I quit using them because of this.

RE: Bore Snakes
i have used them for the quickie clean up after the range or the hunt mostly if i will not have the chance to do the job right to clean the snake i just put them in a old sock and toss them in the washer with the work clothes.

RE: Bore Snakes
Bigcountry....What I have found to work best is to slide a patch through that loop on the end of the bore snake that has some solvent on it. Kind of hard to cut one small enough on .22 cal.
That seems to clean up any junk that the wire takes out of the barrel. I have 2 of them that I use on 4-5 guns. Should have more.
