VERONA SHOTGUN
 

I have posted a few questions about my Verona Shotgun in this forum and have NEVER gotten any response. Are they really that rare that NOBODY knows anything about them? Or do they just suck so much that you guys avoid them like the plague?

I just saw the first one I have ever seen last week, it looked to be a quality gun, very well built. But, for the price of the one I looked at you could get a Beretta 686 Onyx for only a little more so I didn't really see the advantage of the Verona, they are pretty new, but I haven't heard anything bad about them.

They must be. I was in Walmart last night, and was thumbing through a copy of the "Gun Encyclopedia" or some such thing, Verona wasn't even LISTED in the book! Oh well. Trial and error I guess. Can't even seem to find an address on-line for the company so I can request copies of the docs that should have come with the gun.

I work at a hunting store and we are a full line Benelli, Browning, Winchester dealer and we also sell Verona guns. Althought we have not sold one for at least 6 months. They look nice on the outside. The actions are stiff on the over/under .410 that we have on display. The inside of the barrels look ruff, not polished smooth.

Outdoorsman; thanks for the reply. Would it be possible for you to send me the address for Verona, WWW or Snail mail. I'd like to send for a copy of the docs that should have come with it. There were none in the box, and the shop has closed down.

Also, do you have any info on the way that Verona marks their choke tubes? I have 4 that came with my gun, but they are only marked with little slashes on the end 1 on the smallest and 4 on the largest. Don't know what the slashes translate into, full, mod, etc, etc....

One last question. If I were to want to purchase more choke tubes MUST I buy them from Verona, or Verona brand, or will any 12ga. choke tube work?

I think Briley makes tubes to fit their system (and I would recommend these), but no just any 12 ga. tube won't work.

Outdoorsmen, I'm not real surprised that their action is stiff, these seems to be the one thing that most Italian O/U's have in common. The rough bore doesn't bother me as I usually have my forcing cones polished anyway (unless they have a mirror finish from the factory, which is rare).

I didn't have any luck in finding a other info. Briley makes some tubes for it, I would use those over factory. WWW.angleport.com will costum fit tubes to your gun if you send it to them. Other than that, the gun is imported from Italy and I lost my factory catalog!
