European rifles
 

What brand of european rifle would you recommend? Yes, there is Sako, Tikka, Sauer and CZ, but there are lots of others virtually unknown in the US. Has anybody ever shoot an European rifle other than those mentined above?

I handled a H&H rifle in 30-06 a few months ago, but lets be hones who will be willing to spend over 15 grand in a rifle? I guess just a few who can afford it, and even if you can, it doesnt make any sense. There is got to be some other European rifles that are not as expensive as H&H but are as good as sako.

Any, opinions????

The Beretta Mato is a fine rifle. But it costs the same as a Sako. European rifles are expensive because a US company has to import them. They have to buy them, and then sell them and sell them for a profit. The price goes up every time it is sold, and the consumer pays the highest. You would be better off buying a good quality domestic rifle. Just my $.02

Beretta Mato is also made in the US and has always been made here. Skilled Labor rates are higher in Europe then they are here and there are currency issues as well as the importers taking a cut. I won't buy any other European rifle other then a Sako with the exception of a Blaser. The rest while very fine rifles are priced too high for value returned.

I have a Carl Gustaf custom rifle that was given to me by my uncle. I don't know if you can buy them but it is absolutely amazing. I always get coments at the range at how nice it looks and it shoots great. I use it as my primary hunting rifle and don't mind banging it up...thats what it was made for. JDinAB

I believe they were sold here or still sold here but they were very expensive rifles when they were introduced.

Tikka and Sako in that order, if price is in the equation. Tikka and Sako in that order, if price makes no difference. ;)

Just to name a few, Krico, Ansutch, Swiss arms, Sig, Zastava, Mauser, Jyri Jalonen, Husqvarna,Brno, Parker Hale, Carl Gustaf, Toz!

These are not all top class rifles but most are.

Jyri Jalonen are not factory made, just had to mention them cuse they are the best made rifles i have ever seen!!!
