I still haven't gotten my CDL yet, the dealer told me anywhere from the end of this month into September. My 7600 in .35 whelen actually was originally a plain 7600 in 30-06 in which I simply had the barrel resized to .35 caliber. The only other major modification is that I had the barrel shortened to 18'' so it is carbine length. This makes it much easier to carry, but the muzzleblast is also fairly significant. Overall it cost me around 600 dollars for the entire project, since I got the original 30-06 for right around 275 dollars. With the 7600 I stick to Remington Core Locks in 225 grain I believe and it is fairly accurate at 100 yards. I am gettin on average about 1.5'' groups with a Nikon Monarch four power scope. It pretty much serves the purpose I need it for though, in taking whitetail deer in close quarters, where I have yet to shoot one farther then 50 yards on our property. I am going to start handloading so I may have to get some input into some pet loads for the .35 whelen but I will let you know how it shoots when it arrives. I have a Leupold VIII 2-8 scope waiting to put on top of it.
