Remington 700 ADL VS. other rifles??
I shoot a Remington 700 ADL 30-06. I wanted to know how it stacks up against other 30-06's. I have heard it is one of the straightest shooting guns out of the box, and it seemed to fulfill its duties for me at the range. It took me 14 shots to get them .5 apart consistently at 100 yards with a 2x-7x scope. I want to see how much damage I can do with my new Nikon Bucmaster 4-12x50!! I am satisfied with my gun, I just wanted to know how other hunters feel about their models. (Mine has a synthetic stock, bolt action, UNremovable clip that holds five shells, blued barrel) Oh, yea, and how much did you spend on the rifle being posted about?? (mine was about $300, with no scope)

The 700's, ADL and BDL have been good guns historically. I have just preffered Winchesters. There are many good brands on the market today.
As I said, I've always preffered Winchesters. With Remingtons failures with the 597 and 710, I'll never choose a Reminton though!

I currently have 2 BDL SS's one in 300 Ultra Mag and the other in .270, they are good shooters and just feel right to me.
You have a lot more choices with a Remington 700 as far as gunsmiths and aftermarket parts, both of mine will be gone over with some mods I want sometime next year.

Most of the the makers out there are producing rifles more accurate than the average shooter can shoot. I own a couple of 700's,along with Rugers and Winchesters ,a Savage and a Browning. I've also had a couple of Weatherby's in the past. All are good shooter and shoot 1" or less @ 100 yards , but I have to give the nod to the 700s which give ragged one hole groups with factory ammo.
Basicly everybody makes a good rifle, buy what looks and feels good to you.
