? for 7mm STW shooters
I seem to have misplaced my new Lyman manual:eek:[:@], could someone tell me what they list as a MAX load for a 160gr bullet with Reloader 22.
I shot some handloads today using: 72.5 and 73.0 grains of R22 and a 160 gr Nosler accubonds and they were shooting just under 1". Nosler data shows 73.0 gr as max, but there was no sign of getting close to high pressure. I am sure I can add more powder and still be safe. |
RE: ? for 7mm STW shooters
Curious, what kind of velocity where you getting?

RE: ? for 7mm STW shooters
It's funny you should ask that. I just bought a F1 shooting chrony and went to set it up at the range, but my tripod is a different thread size than the chrony mount[:@][:'(].
When I get the right mount I will post velocites. |

I do not have a Lyman manual. I will give you the max load out of the Nosler # 4 manual. Hope this helps? 7mm-STW 160-gr Nosler Partition RL-22 Max load 73.0-grains. 3121-f.p.s. Load density-81% I have used Reloader-22 in the past with 160-gr. Nosler Partitions. My best load was 77-grains of Reloader-22 with a 160-grain Nosler Partition. This load is 4-grains OVER MAX! I started to show signs of pressure at 77-grains. My groups were around 1" to 1"1/4. I called Nosler for reloading information when I first bought the Accubond. They told me to use the same load data for the Accubond as the Partition. This is my pet load for my Remington Sendero 7mm-STW. Federal 215-primers. 140-gr Nosler Partition. 79.0-grains IMR-7828. |
RE: ? for 7mm STW shooters
Thanks wolf killer, I thought the Nosler data was somewhat mild.
I shot some rounds on Wednesday. I used 73.0 gr R22 with 160 gr accubond. I was averaging well under an inch. I'll try to "clock" some next time I go shoot. |
