.300 RUM MAG CAPACITY??
 

.300 RUM owners, How many rounds fit in your magazine? My manual says 4, 3 in mag 1 in barrel,But mine will only hold 2 in mag ,Is the manual wrong or is something wrong w/my gun?

What make is it?Savages only hold 3,1 down the pipe and 2 in the mag.Rem and Winchester hold 4,1 down the pipe and 3 in the mag.

Sorry, Forgot to say it is a REM 700 Sendero SS Fluted 26".

My remington 700's hold three in the magazine.

DeerSlayer...RUM is Remington Ultra Mag, and is a different round than a 300Win.

It should hold 3 in the mag and one in the chamber.

I edited it Stubble...Just one of those days. LOL

If so...then not all Rem's are the same in that aspect.

The 300ultra mag and 300win mag are the same caliber but they are different cartridges.

All 700's I have had will hold 3 in the mag. Its decently tight however.

My sendero 300 rum holds 3 in the mag, one in the barrel. Sometimes the 3rd is a bit hard to get in the mag. (due to the fact that it is new and still breaking in)

Ok ,Thanks guy's, I called Remington and the customer service guy I talked to said it would not hold 3 in the mag... I asked if my manual was a victim of a misprint and he said yes......I swear who hires these people?
Upon checking I found a rough area in the bottom of the floor plate and mag area where the magazine touches the floor plate and it is causing it to catch and prevent the 3rd round from going.. Shoud be a easy fix w/ a dremel tool! If it didn't shoot 200 yd 3/8"-1/2" groups I'd send it in and make them fix it...

After 4 take apart and put back together grind sessions it holds three in the mag now! The floorplate was catching on the trigger guard assembly and prevented it from depressing far enough to accomodate the 3rd shell. What a pain......
