Jeez, you guys wont stop blabbering, the answer is so simple! ok we have a (dare I say) novice hunter, small, girlfriend. It is so simple! Just buy her a Barret .50 BMG with hollow points, overpenetration,recoil and the price might get in the way, though.:D

i have a 243 it dosnt kick a bit, you could shoot it all day and never get tired. it works great for deer. i was wearing a hat and it was about 1/4 inch from the scope and when i shot it didnt touch my hat.

try a savage in your prefered caliber and buy the one with a heavy bull barrel,they are up on acuracy and down on recoil.I shoot the 308. savage tactical
