.350 Remington Magnum.........

I been reading alot about the 673. The 350 has piqued my curiosity....does anybody on here shoot one and what is your opinion of it.....i.e....accuracy...recoil...knockdown..etc. Thanks in advance. I guess that cartidge was one of the original short mags.

RE: .350 Remington Magnum.........

I have read allot on this cartridge and was impressed on it’s capabilities at short distance up to 200 yards. I was also concern on it’s recoil and found out that it was not any more then my 7mm Rem Mag so I ended up ordering a barrel for the 350 Rem. Mag. The 35 caliber is not very popular and the choice of bullet weights is limited but I’m looking forward to reloading for my new barrel. If you would like to read some more on this cartridge check out this link from guns & ammo. www.gunsandammomag.com/ammunition/magnum_1215/

I have the 673 in the 350 rem mag and impressed with it's performance. Three shot groups are well under 1" and to me the recoil is not that bad at all. Hey I'm 136 soaking wet and I don't have any problem with the recoil. I haven't tried it on deer yet but I will be using it this year for deer season. Of all the guns that I own, I would say that it's probably the most accurate rifle that I have. I also have the 673 in the 6.5 rem and one of 500 in 243.

The .350 Rem mag is basically a "short" 35 Whelen. Sure the .350 has a little bit of an edge, but not much.

Is it the 673 you like or the .350 Rem Mag? If you like the cartridge but would like a more traditional rifle Ruger is supposed to have it available this year in there M77 MKII. I'm not saying not to get the 673, to each there own.

BTW, thw original short mags are the .300 win mag, .338 win mag, 7mm Rem mag, .264 win mag. Since they are shorter than the H&H case.

RE: .350 Remington Magnum.........

I've shot a few moose ect with a 350 rem mag.. At the time i had a Ruger 77 and also a short Remingtion in that cal.. There's nothing wrong with it's performance, especially these days with the better 35 cal. bullets available. That's the very reason i went to the .338, was to get the better bullets available then for it.

350 mag with the right bullets has enough power for anything in the U.S., and would make a fine big game cartridge.

I had one quite a few years ago. It is a great cartridge for most all bigger game to 250 yards. I shot a buffalo with it and a few mule deer. The gun got to valuable for me to keep when the first bunch started being collectors material.;)

the 350 rem mag is one of my favorite cartridges. My 700 classic will shoot moa with almost anything I put through it.My 2 favorite bullets are the 200gr hornady round nose and the 225 gr nosler partition.the 200 gr hornady is awesome on deer.
