Thanks for all the guidance/feedback on the Savage 1899, 250-3000. After reading the information posted here I've decided to take the rifle to a local gunsmith for a good cleaning and evaluation to ensure all is well for use. After I get the green light I hope to add another deer harvest to the weapons history.

SCORE!!!! The savage 99 in 250-3000 is a great little rifle, the break down versions are among the most valuable. You wont ever regrett owning this rifle low recoil so kids and ladies can shoot to.
