I have ancestors that shot it out with the feds who came to break up their livelyhood of distilling spirits in the 1930's. I would be a disgrace to my family if I didn't do the same over something much more important.

This is one of reasons I'm considered by some on here to be an extremist.

This is from one of the anti-gun websites and they are asking for signatures.

Tell the President and Congress to renew the Assault Weapons Ban
The NRA wants to put illegal military style rapid-fire assault weapons, including AK-47s and Uzis, back on our streets. Tell President Bush no way is this going to happen. The Assault Weapons Ban must be renewed. In this day and age, why would anyone want to put these killing machines back on our streets?

Please stand up for what you know is right!
Tell President Bush and Congress that Americans want sane gun laws.

DON'T THAT JUST MAKE YOU WANT TO BITE A NAIL IN TO. LIES, LIES AND MORE LIES IS ALL WE EVER SEE FROM THAT IGNORANT BUNCH.

One thing I have read consistently from the more "lenient with thier rights" group on this thread is that they wouldn't commit "murder" to protect their property. Is it murder, or is it in a sense war? I would not call this murder. Do you call it murder when someone breaks into your home and you kill them is self-defense? That and this "hypothetical" situation are the same in my mind. How could you call yourself a criminal if you have the unalienable right to life, liberty, and property? How could you call yourself a murderer if you are defending yourself within your constitutional rights?

As you can tell from the blurb on the left side of the post, I am new to the boards here. But don't label all of us FNGs as infiltrators. I am as passionate about keeping my arms as anyone here.

Abnhunter,
We are always glad to welcome newbe's here! Its just that here recently we've had an influx of anti's, that are clearly here to cause trouble, and lead some astray if possible.
Welcome to the board!

What a far fetched idea Sure Shot. I suppose a topic like this is good to wake sleeping dogs up but the logistics of it all would be impossible. The Government agencies that police this great country are constantly on different sheets of music. Hell, they cannot even stop terrorists from coming into the country and then when they do make it in the Goverment always seems to lose track of them. Unify and take our guns away, are you kidding? Please, let's don't give them that much credit, it's sickening. 2nd Amendment supporters like us greatly out number any group bent on scooping up our guns. They would have a better chance at stopping all of the speeding cars in my neighborhood that endander my kids and I don't see that happening anytime soon.

It's not so far fatched, CW. Yes, US law enforcement aren't on the same sheet of music. But there is a national organization that is - the National Guard. Think back to the late 50's and early 60's. When some states resisted desegregation, the US govenment federalized the Guard to enforce it (Little Rock, Arkansas). If using the Guard proves ineffective, like at Ole Miss, then federal troops could be used, just like at Ole Miss. In those instances, the government's intentions were good, the cause just. But that same power can be used to enforce bad law. Which is why we have the Second Amendment in the first place. I've said it before, I'll say it again - Yes, it can happen here.

hmmm.

highly trained and agressive men armed with german made machine pistols wearing coal scuttle helmets that are controlled by the controlling party of a country breaking into people's houses in the middle of the night, hosing people in their beds with gunfire, taking and deporting children, and burning people's living quarters to the ground?

Couldn't happen here.[:@]

Some people don't understand the anti-gun agenda, they [the anti's] know they can't come and take our guns in one swift move, they just continue to nibble away at our rights, taking a few here and a few there, then the first thing you know we have lost one whole class of firearms, just look at the AWB, now they are trying to include even more guns to be labeled as assault weapons, none of the ones they have banned now should be considered as an assault weapon. What will the next class be ? all hand guns, or maybe all shot guns. Until we understand how they work and understand what their real agenda is we will continue to squabble back and forth and continue to keep losing very important battles that we need to be winning, until we put politics aside and make our rights more important than a party we will not gain much ground.
