Stainless Steel Barrels

Can anyone tell me what the advantages of stainless steel are? Besides weather resistence.

Are they as accurate and do they last as long?

Thanks

Benchrest shooters use stainless barrels because their accuracy lives are longer. If there was any accuracy or longevity advantage to chrome moly barrels then the benchrest guys would be using them. The only downside to stainless is looks, some don't like their looks. To me they look fine so that's what I use.

I like a stainless gun. but if you dont like the look have it teflon coated and change the color.and it will be even more weather resistant.

Stainless is easier to get fouling out of too

The stainless barrels are better if they are done right in the first place as in bench rest guns.
But I have seen a lot more "GOOD" factory barrels in blue than I ever have in stainless.(looking through a bore scope)
Stainless is harder to machine and get right.
