Lmao bigbulls,

I would think of going to a full metal jacketed bullet. You sure might need some more penetration. I think that 1,000,000 gr corelokt bullet will blow up and leave that elk wounded. But then again if you shot it at less than 40yds you might want to bring the BBQ sauce with you. lol. good one bigbulls. :D

Ah......excellent.....now you can hunt elk in Alaska and never have to leave Colorado.

Where do you attach the sling on that thing?

Does Walmart have ammo for that thing? Whats your favorite handload?;)

I guess that precise shot placement isn't a factor.

All you need now is a good recoil pad and a flash hider.Shoot,Smoke and BBQ all in 1 step.I like it

How much does that Hubble Telescope cost????? And does it have 1/4 MOA click adjustments??

I don't think I could handle the bazillion foot/pounds of recoil though.

Vapodog,

If he flies from one part of Colorado to another part of it, can he still hunt in Alaska on the same day???

Never hunting Elk before,I'm just guessing.Using that wouldn't you be a little under gunned?I would move at least to the next size making it a sure kill.

Heck, the gun is 30 meters long. I figure that anything inside 100 yards will be dead, gutted, and roasted all in one shot.;):D

Yep, no more having to pack in a camp, hike up the mountains, etc..... I just gotta get someone to fly me in to pick up my kill. LOL.

It's kind of a specialized load so Wal-Mart doesn't carry a whole lot of it. I hear that Cabelas will be carying it though. I do prefer to hand load it though. I like a 767pound bullet with 1,267.893 pounds of H50BMG. I get excelent accuracy and velocity with theis load.[8D]

Now stubble, We all know that shot placement is paramount with any gun / cartridge.;)

Yep, I'm waiting for the AWB to go away so I can hide some of that fire ball.;)

I'm gonna be calling up Leupold on Monday to see if they can hook me up and make me a mark 4 long range scope for it.

Recoil? What recoil? It's nothing that a Decelerator pad and a muzzle brake couldn't tame.

Yeah, I do feel a little undergunned. But that one is the biggest that I could afford. I picked it up at the local surplus store. A new one was just out of my price range. I'm gonna have to choose my shots very carefully.:D

BigBulls, I think you have all comments made covered LOL..I just hope that small elk gun you have doesn't spook the game whatever it maybe..That's something you might consider. Make a Camo cover for it.
If anybody can set you up with a scope for it Leupold can. Trashco might but probably wouldn't hold up to the light recoil. You have allot to consider before taking it elk hunting. Even more if you're going to try it out on Chipmunks or cottontails.

Hey Toro Grande!! I theenks yu gunna cook'em at same time, no??

After refusing to break contact with the Iraqis despite repeated warnings, Bull was assassinated in March 1990. Probably by the Israeli Secret Service.

Bigbulls, you really should be ashamed of yourself! Shooting an animal the size of an Elk with such a small gun, is clearly, unethical!

Oh great, by next year this time, there wil be discussion on this board how some of the ultrasuperduper short magnums are no longer powerful enough to hunt elk with.[:@]

And another dozen posts asking if this gun is powerful enough for whitetails past 400 yards!

Hey, can you post some of the test groups from range firing?
What does the target look like after a couple of shots?

I suggest you stack the sand bags high, and sit up straight with your chest on the edge of the shooting table.

Is that considered a "long magnum"?:D

If you shoot into a herd I hope you have more than one tag. But then who will count the parts anyway.

Where can I get one. I have enough powder to get the bullett at least half way down the barrel.
