RE: Sidearm Carry ???
Glocks don’t have second-strike capability like a true double action revolver or semi-auto. Over 90% of the time a second strike fires the primer by seating it, which is the usual reason for a misfire. One of the reasons that the Glock is popular with police departments is the amount of women officers, easer to train and small hands.

RE: Sidearm Carry ???
Sure, if you can qualify with the sidearm, you can carry it within reason for a whole bunch of states, and agencies. And if not for primary, for backup. The people I know in gov. agencies seem to like everyone to carry the same gun. My best friend carries a berretta since start work with a MD/gov. agency and not too happy about it. When he was with MD's Anne Arrundel police department, they were able to carry sigs, which he claimed he liked better. He doesn't like glocks either but loves their wieght. I disagree with him. I like thier simplicity. After looking around, it seems it ranges from 1911's for the LA Swat, to glocks for marshalls, to whatever. I don't see a majority carrying glocks.
